This year our theme is “Queer in STEM beyond visibility” – we’re looking for projects across the UK that engage with our theme in their local community. We are especially interested in supporting projects that are developed with, by, and for minoritised LGBTQ+ communities in STEM: especially QTPOC, working-class LGBTQ+ folk, and disabled LGBTQ+ folks. We are looking for projects that move beyond Pride in STEM’s existing work through OutThinkers (i.e. not for people to reproduce this event format).
We offer up to £1,000 in 2024 to support your project. We expect the project to take place within 6-9 months of the award, but please be in touch if there are reasons you believe you might need longer to deliver the project. As part of the award, Pride in STEM will feature your project and you (with your consent) on our website, and also expect the use of our branding on any materials that you produce. At the end of the grant, we expect a summary report on your project as well as financial documentation. This can be around a 600-word summary, or a commensurate video/audio report.
We expect to fund 3-5 projects in the 2024 round.
To apply, submit the completed document by August 12, 2024, through this online form. We recommend drafting answers offline before submitting this form.
Incomplete applications or those received after the deadline will not be considered.
For any questions or additional information, please contact Ellie Armstrong, at prideinstem@gmail.com, with ‘Small Grants’ in the title of the email.
We aim to give decisions no later than four weeks after the deadline.
